LAKE ELMENTEITA NATIONAL WILDLIFE SANCTUARY BIRDING TOUR
Our Lake Elmenteita National Wildlife Sanctuary Birding Tour is one of the popular day birding trips in Kenya. Lake Elmenteita also known as Lake Elementeita is a soda lake in the Central Great Rift Valley of Kenya. This amazing lake is known as a breeding site for many birds and especially Great White Pelicans. It is a Ramsar Site and also an Important Bird and Biodiversity Area (IBA).
On the Lake Elmenteita National Wildlife Sanctuary Birding Tour, we leave the hotel and drive to this wonderful lake. Roadside stops along the way allow us to enjoy beautiful landscapes and some extra birds. We shall then enjoy birding at the Lake Elmenteita National Wildlife Sanctuary, a birding haven managed by the Kenya Wildlife Service. Birds here include waterbirds along the lake shores, woodland species as well as savannah grassland species. This diversity of birds species makes the Lake Elmenteita National Wildlife Sanctuary Birding Tour a great trip indeed.
We shall also enjoy many iconic landscapes such as the Great Rift Valley escarpment on our way. At the Soysambu Conservancy lies a famous hill known as the Sleeping Warrior Hill, which is visible from the Lake Elmenteita shores.
In the afternoon, we shall return to the hotel, marking the end to our lovely Lake Elmenteita National Wildlife Sanctuary Birding Tour.
