- Personal attire and personal effects
- Comfortable walking shoes
- A jersey/jacket or sweater for the cold days
- A raincoat (with hood) or a rain suit
- Sun hat
- Spotlight/torch with spare batteries and bulb
- Pocket knife
- A pair of binoculars
- A field notebook and pens
- A camera (optional)
- Field guide books on East Africa – mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, ecosystems etc. (optional) – guide books will be provided at camp throughout the training
