7 days in southern Kenya (February 2023)

I was given an outstanding exposure to several parks and preserves from Amboseli National Park to both Tsavo parks to a couple days at the coast, including Arabuko-Sokoke Forest. Washington Wachira is certainly one of the top ornithologists and all-around guides in Kenya, and driver Benson was both bird-savvy and a talented driver. The depth and breadth of Wachira’s knowledge were very impressive, and everything was organized efficiently. There was not a bird sound we heard that Wachira could not identify. I learned about the depth of training that Wachira gives his guides; this seemed remarkable and a testament to the quality of the company, which operates throughout East Africa. I am already recommending Cisticola Tours to my friends, and I would be thrilled to travel with them again. It’s a first-class operation!
