Brief itinerary

The tour starts in Nairobi, Kenya’s economic capital; often regarded as the wildlife capital. The city has a national park at its edge, making it one of the most special conservation cities globally.

DAY 1: NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK

Spend a day in this special urban park enjoying the local wildlife and learning conservation topics led by our top guides. You will leave the hotel early and head straight to the park, to allow an early morning start. The wildlife here is amazing and all members of the Big 5 can be seen here on a game drive; except wild elephants. The park provides a sanctuary for rhinos and these have made the park a special site for all rhino lovers. The park is also Kenya’s oldest park and has been a famous location for its ivory burning site. This park is only 117 Km2making it very adequate for a day’s visit.

DAY 2 AND 3: SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE

We shall head north, crossing the Equator to Samburu. This spectacular reserve hosts some very unique wildlife such as the Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk, Grevy’s Zebra and Reticulated Giraffe; most of which are not easy to find south of the Equator. The mighty Ewaso Ng’iro North River meanders its way across the reserve giving life to this beautiful land. Local Doum Palms tangle their branches in the sky as if waving at the people, and provide the landscape with a beautiful touch. Enjoy tracking the local elephants and other members of the Big 5 on your game drives.

DAY 4 AND 5: LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

The park is known for the mighty Lake Nakuru, a soda lake at the heart of the great ecosystem. This park is also a great sanctuary for rhinos and these may be encountered on our game drives.The local birds make the park special too, and it is often referred as the birdwatcher’s paradise. Enjoy the large herds of herbivores, especially the local Cape Buffaloes among many other spectacular wildlife species. The landscapes here are very rewarding as well.

DAY 6, 7 AND 8: MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE VIA LAKE NAIVASHA

From Lake Nakuru, we shall head to the Masai Mara via a fresh water lake called Lake Naivasha. We shall have a chance to visit the lake shores and learn about its wildlife and conservation. Here we shall enjoy a boat ride followed by a scenic lunch.

Renowned for the annual wildebeest migration, which is often regarded as the 8th Wonder of the World, Masai Mara National Reserve is the crown of our experience.Considered the ultimate wildlife haven in Kenya, this reserve has a lot to offer. From all members of the Big 5 to the numerous herbivores grazing the landscape in huge herds, this place is indeed amazing. You will spend the next three days learning about this magical destination with our guides. Enjoy interesting game drives as you track the Big 5, the Big Cats and much more. You will also get a chance to visit a Maasai Village one morning to learn about their cultures and ways of life.

DAY 9: DEPARTURE

On this day, we shall drive to Nairobi, cruising across the Rift Valley. We shall have lunch in Nairobi at a local restaurant, allowing you to sample some of the best local dishes. Later in the afternoon, we head to the airport.
